Minoa example

This small example shows a common tactical situation for Minoa.

It’s Blue’s turn. The player has an option to conquer a big region at the bottom half of the board.

Blue plays near the center (the black stick marked with a dot).

Now, if Red plays on “a”, Blue can answer with “b”. If Red then blocks that blue border with a black stick (the thick grey line in front of “b”), Blue can easily finish the battle with “c”. Red cannot play again directly in front of “c” (the second thick grey line) because it would create an inner region. Otherwise if Red - instead of playing “a” - plays on “b” or “c”, then Blue would block Red there. The path through “a” towards the strong blue border cannot be closed then.
